[00:00:30] One of my favorite image consulting books that has helped me out tremendously in the industry is called First Impressions: What You Don’t Know About How Others See You, and it’s by Ann Demarais and Valerie White, two PhDs who wrote this really wonderful book on how to assess first impressions. It gives you a lot of really wonderful tools to work with your clients.
[00:01:00] It’s not necessarily a deliberate, specific image consulting book, but it’s been super helpful. Also, as you might know, in the resource hub here on the Studio for Image Professionals website, we have an entire book list that we have rated. There are over 800 books on there that we have reviewed, giving you the information for and our students get prime access to this information, so be sure to check that out in our resource hub.
[00:01:30] I couldn’t decide on one book so I brought three. I hope you don’t mind. The first one is a true classic one. It’s from Alyce Parson StyleSource. I truly enjoy reading this book, and it has become such an important part of my journey in becoming a corporate image consultant. Why? Because she goes far beyond the general information you find in other books. She even explains which style personalities are great for which industry, for which position, for which client. I truly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it, especially if you want to work with executives at corporations.
[00:02:00] The second book I brought is my menswear Bible. I truly love working with men and I love menswear. In this book you don’t find so much information but I really, really enjoy just looking through the book and seeing all those gentlemen, how they dressed over the year and where to find those things.
Last but not least, my favorite image consultant book forever will be the one I wrote.
